Demo server online

We now have a demo server online. If you haven't yet tried nntp//rss, this is a quick way to see it in action.

Click on the link below to connect to the demo nntp//rss server using your default newsreader:

news://demo.methodizesolutions.com/

This server is running the current work-in-progress v0.4 alpha. It is also quite special, as it is running using the new MySQL database support that is in the 0.4 release!

Due to the blackouts in New York, and a rather sickly server, the demo server is temporarily offline. It should be back online by the weekend.

The demo server (news://demo.methodizesolutions.com/) is back online. The machine is still behaving a little odd, so there may be interruptions in service in the near future while I try to nail down the problem.

If there are any popular RSS or ATOM feeds you think would be good to add to the demo server, drop an email to nntprss@methodize.org

It seems like the stability problems with the demo server were related to a conflict between the power management daemon (apmd) and the machine's network card. apmd has now been disabled, and hopefully the server will be a little more stable.
